# Connecting Schouten Zekerheid (Warranty certificate)

Step 1: entering basic data · Updated: 2026-02-07 · Bas Software
Web version: https://www.bas.software/en/onboarding/step-1-entering-basic-data/connecting-schouten-zekerheid-warranty-certificate

Connect Schouten Zekerheid to Bas to request warranty certificates automatically. All customer details are filled in automatically, saving 5 minutes per certificate.

## Connecting Schouten Zekerheid

This integration is only relevant if you are an **accredited remover** and offer warranty certificates through Schouten Zekerheid. If you are not an accredited remover, you can skip this article.

With the Schouten Zekerheid integration, the customer details from Bas are filled in automatically when requesting a warranty certificate. You no longer have to retype all the details manually. This saves about 5 minutes per certificate.

---

## What does the integration do?

When completing the task "Request warranty certificate", Schouten Zekerheid opens automatically with: - Customer name - Old address - New address - Removal date - Contact details

The only thing you still adjust manually is the **amount** of the certificate.

---

## Step 1 - Generate an API key in Schouten Zekerheid

1. Log in to the **Schouten Zekerheid portal**
2. Go to **Settings**
3. Click **External applications**
4. Click **Generate new API key**
5. Copy the API key and store it safely

---

## Step 2 - Enter the API key in Bas

1. Go to **Settings** > **Workflow** > **Integrations**
2. Find **Schouten Zekerheid** (or **Warranty certificate**)
3. Click **Connect**
4. Paste the **API key**
5. Click **Save**

---

---

## Step 3 - Set the cost per certificate

In the warranty certificate settings you can enter the **cost amount**: what does a certificate cost you? This amount is automatically included in the cost calculation of the removal case file.

This way, in the final costing you can see exactly what the certificate cost, and you can include it in your margin calculation.

---

## Step 4 - Integration per identity

Do you work with **multiple brands or identities**? Then you can set up the Schouten Zekerheid integration per identity. Each brand can have its own certificate integration. This ensures the correct company details are used when requesting a certificate, depending on which brand carries out the removal.

## Step 5 - Testing with a test case file

1. Create a **test case file** in Bas with a removal date 5 days from now
2. Wait until the task **Request warranty certificate** appears (by default 5 days before the removal)
3. Click **Complete** on the task
4. Schouten Zekerheid opens automatically
5. Check that all details have been transferred correctly
6. Adjust the amount and click **Send**
7. Then tick it off in Bas

If the details are transferred correctly, the integration is working.

---

## How it works in practice

The integration works like this in your daily workflow:

| Moment | What happens |
| --- | --- |
| Day -5 (before removal) | The task "Request warranty certificate" appears on your home page |
| You click Complete | Schouten Zekerheid opens with pre-filled customer details |
| You adjust the amount | You only fill in the certificate amount manually |
| You click Send | The certificate is requested from Schouten Zekerheid |
| After approval | You tick off the task in Bas |

---

## Tips

- **The number of days before the task appears** (by default 5 days) can be adjusted under **Settings** > **Workflow**. Most companies keep 5 days as a good average. Some companies set it to 30 days, but then you often still have changes to the removal details.

---

## Watch out

- **The integration is one-way.** Bas sends data to Schouten Zekerheid, but Schouten Zekerheid does not send confirmation back to Bas. This is a deliberate choice by Schouten Zekerheid. You have to check in the Schouten portal yourself whether the certificate has been approved.
