Overview
You want to use an external rental vehicle for a specific job, but don't want it to show up permanently in your fleet. There is no separate feature for temporary rental vehicles.
Problem
When things get busy, you sometimes hire extra vehicles for a few days. You want to be able to schedule these on jobs, but they need to disappear from your planning again afterwards. Otherwise your fleet stays cluttered with vehicles you no longer have.
Solution
Quick fix (now)
Go to WMS → Vehicles
Click 'New vehicle'
Enter the rental vehicle's details (registration number, type)
Schedule the vehicle on your job via the planning
Remove the vehicle again as soon as you've returned it
This is currently the only workable solution.
Why does this happen?
Vehicles work differently from agency workers. For staff, you can set temporary availability, but this feature doesn't exist for vehicles. The system assumes that vehicles in your fleet are permanently available. A separate feature for rental vehicles doesn't exist yet.
Extra tips
Give rental vehicles a recognisable name (for example "RENTAL - Furniture van")
Note the rental period in the notes field
Remove the vehicle immediately after returning it, otherwise you'll forget
