Great to have you here. You've chosen Bas and that's a smart move. In this article we explain what Bas is, how the onboarding works, and what you can expect over the coming weeks.
What is Bas?
Bas is removal software that brings your entire operation into one system. From the first customer contact to the last invoice, and everything in between: surveys, quotes, planning, the employee app, invoicing and storage.
The goal is simple: to make your business work more efficiently. No separate Excel files, no paper schedules, no manual invoices. Everything in one place, for everyone in your team.
What can you do with Bas?
Carry out surveys on an iPad, with automatic volume calculation
Draw up quotes and have them signed digitally by your customer
Manage planning with a clear planning board for vehicles and staff
Employee app with which your removal crew views jobs, logs hours and reports damage
Generate invoicing automatically and have it paid online directly via iDeal
Manage storage with a warehouse management system (WMS)
Link your accounting to Exact Online, Snelstart, Yuki and other packages
You don't have to use everything at once. During the onboarding we'll work out together which parts are relevant for your company.
How does the onboarding work?
The onboarding is divided into 5 phases. Each phase builds on the previous one. You go through them step by step, together with your onboarding specialist.
The whole process takes 4 to 8 weeks on average, depending on the size of your company and how quickly you complete the intermediate steps.
Phase 1 - Kickoff
What happens: You supply materials (logo, colour codes, terms and conditions) and we map out your business processes. How do you work now? Which services do you offer? Who does what in your team?
Estimated time: 1-2 hours, spread over supplying materials and an initial conversation.
Phase 2 - Filling in yourself
What happens: You fill in the basic data in the system yourself. Think of your company settings, boxes, materials, vehicles and staff. This is the preparation you do between sessions.
Estimated time: 2-4 hours, spread over several days. You set your own pace.
Phase 3 - Setting up together
What happens: During one or more sessions with your onboarding specialist you set up the more complex parts. Packages with rates, document templates for quotes and invoices, the accounting link, and the planning.
Estimated time: 2-6 hours, spread over 1 to 3 sessions.
Phase 4 - Practising
What happens: You practise independently with test files. You create customers, draw up quotes, schedule moves, and send invoices.
Estimated time: 2-4 hours, spread over 1 to 2 weeks. You do this at your own pace.
Tip: You don't need to be perfect at everything. Mastering 70% is enough to go live. You'll learn the rest as you go.
Phase 5 - Preparing for go-live
What happens: We clean up your test data, turn on the automatic messages, invite your staff to the app, and transfer any existing files if needed.
Estimated time: 1-3 hours, depending on whether you need to transfer existing files.
What can you expect?
Time investment
The total time investment differs per type of company. Below is an overview so you know what to expect.
Company type | Number of sessions | Total duration | Total time investment |
Small company (1-5 employees, no storage) | 1-2 sessions | 2-3 weeks | 4-8 hours |
Medium company (5-10 employees) | 2-3 sessions | 4-6 weeks | 8-16 hours |
Medium company with storage | 3-4 sessions | 4-6 weeks | 12-20 hours |
Large company (10+ employees, storage, business moves) | 4-5 sessions | 6-8 weeks | 16-30 hours |
It won't be faster straight away
An important point to expect: Bas won't save you time straight away at the start. The first two weeks will feel heavier than your old way of working. That's normal.
What Bas does do: it makes you more efficient. Everything is in one place, you have a clear overview, and you make fewer mistakes. After a month it becomes second nature and you won't want to go back.
Who helps you?
During the onboarding you have a dedicated onboarding specialist. This is your point of contact for everything: questions, problems, planning.
How do you reach your specialist?
During sessions: via video call (remote) or on site
In between: via the chat bubble in the bottom right of Bas
In addition, Basie, the chatbot in Bas, helps you with frequently asked questions. Basie answers around 70% of questions directly. For more complex questions Basie automatically hands over to your onboarding specialist.

Between sessions: preparation
Between sessions you do preparation. These are things you can fill in yourself in the system: staff, boxes, materials, vehicles. The better you prepare this, the faster the sessions go.
The preparation takes 2-4 hours on average, spread over several days. You don't have to do it all at once.
Tip: Schedule the preparation in your diary. Half an hour a day is enough. Then you'll have everything ready within a week for the next session.
What if you have storage?
If your company offers storage services, the onboarding becomes a bit more extensive. You get one or two extra sessions for the warehouse management system (WMS): setting up warehouses, defining storage locations, setting up QR labels, and configuring invoicing for storage.
Storage is the most complex part of Bas. It's important that you take proper time for this.
What do we NOT cover during the onboarding?
Not everything is set up straight away. A few parts we deliberately save for later:
HRM (leave, hours, expense claims): We only cover this once you've been working live with Bas for at least a month. Get the basics running first.
KPI Dashboard: This comes naturally once you have data. Basics first.
Advanced integrations (Zapier, website integration): This is optimisation you can add later.
The reason is simple: we don't want to overwhelm you. You learn Bas step by step, and each step builds on the previous one.
