The Bas Employee App is where the removal crew view their schedule, carry out jobs and record information. This article explains how to download the app, install it and log in for the first time.
Step 1 - Downloading the app
The app is available for iOS and Android.
iOS: Go to the App Store and search for "Bas Medewerker". Download the app.
Android: Go to the Google Play Store and search for "Bas Medewerker". Download the app.
Please note: On iOS, employees need an Apple ID. This is often a stumbling block. Make sure employees have this arranged in advance.
Step 2 - Web version as an alternative
Does an employee have an older phone that isn't supported by the app stores? Use the web version.
Open the Bas URL in Chrome on the phone. Choose Install as app or Add to home screen. The employee now has the same experience as a native app.
This is a fully-fledged solution. The web version works identically to the native app.
Step 3 - Sending an invitation from the backoffice
Before an employee can log in, you need to send an invitation from the backoffice.
Go to the employee in the system. Check that the email address is correct. Send the invitation.
The employee receives an email with an invitation link.
Please note: The invitation link is valid for 24 hours. If the employee doesn't respond in time, you'll need to send a new invitation.
Step 4 - Logging in for the first time
The employee opens the app and fills in three fields:
Field | What to enter | Example |
URL | Your company name (without .bas.software) | voorbeeldverhuizingen |
Email address | As entered in the system | |
Password | Created via the invitation link | -- |
Click Log in.
Step 5 - Creating a password
When logging in for the first time, the employee creates a password. The password needs to be sufficiently long and complex: capital letters, numbers and special characters.
The strength requirements aren't always communicated clearly. If it doesn't work: use Forgot password in the app. The employee will receive a new link by email.
Step 6 - Setting up Face ID or fingerprint
After the first successful login: set up Face ID (iOS) or fingerprint (Android).
This is the most important tip for a smooth start. The password only needs to be entered once. After that, the employee can log in with Face ID or fingerprint.
Tip: Password issues are the number one frustration among employees. With Face ID or fingerprint, that problem disappears completely.
Step 7 - What do you see after logging in?
After logging in, the employee sees an overview of their jobs. Today's job is at the top.
For each job, the employee sees:
Customer details (name, phone, addresses)
Instructions and particulars
Materials list
Documents (inventory list, photos)
Team members
Navigation (tap the address to go directly to Google Maps or Apple Maps)
Common problems
"The app doesn't work on my phone"
Usually an outdated phone. Solution: use the web version (PWA) via Chrome. If the phone is really too old, the employee needs to upgrade.
"I can't log in"
Usually a password problem. Use Forgot password. Create a new password. Then set up Face ID or fingerprint.
"I can't see my job"
Check whether the employee is scheduled in the office's schedule. Employees only see jobs they're linked to. Also check whether the employee is on the correct branch.
"Difference between Apple ID and Bas password"
The Apple ID password is for the App Store. The Bas password is for the app. These are two different passwords. This causes a lot of confusion.
Tips
Have employees open the app at home once before their first working day
Test the login at a quiet moment, not right before a job
Face ID or fingerprint isn't a luxury, it's essential
Keep the URL, email address and password safe (for example in a password manager)
Please note
The invitation link is only valid for 24 hours
Without a correct email address in the system, no invitation can be sent
For iOS phones, the Apple ID needs to be arranged in advance
