The task system in Bas is the engine behind your daily workflow. Every action you need to take - from sending a quote to handling a damage report - appears as a task on your homepage.
Bas has more than 40 standard tasks. In this article, you'll look at which tasks exist and what they do. In the next article, you'll set which tasks are active and which team sees them.
Why this matters
A removal company with 5 lorries, 15 employees and a full schedule quickly generates hundreds of tasks a week. If you switch on all 40+ tasks, the number soon adds up.
Note: The rule of thumb is: less is more. Start with the tasks that really fit your working process and switch off the rest. Too many tasks leads to the team ignoring the task list and going back to paper lists.

Important: tasks are reminders, not automatic actions
The system never automatically sends a quote or invoice based on a task. Tasks are reminders that tell you something needs to happen. You always carry out the action itself - sending a quote, creating an invoice - manually. This is a deliberate choice: you always retain control over what goes out to your customers.
Tips
Start with the basic tasks. Only switch on tasks you really need. Less is more.
Error messages always on. Tasks like "Sending invoice failed" and "Sending email failed" you always want to see. Without these notifications, you'll miss problems.
Warning tasks are valuable. Tasks like "Employee sick but scheduled" prevent planning mistakes.
HR comes later. Leave, sickness and expense claims are a separate project. Only activate these tasks once the basic functions (sales, planning, invoicing) are running stably.
Please note
Switching on too many tasks results in an unworkable task list. At a busy company with 10+ case files a week, this can add up quickly. Start with the basic tasks and expand once things are running stably.
Switching off error messages is risky. If an invoice isn't sent or an email fails, you want to know about it. Always leave error message tasks switched on.
