About Bas and LiveQuote

From the home survey and the quote to the planning, the moving day and the invoice: with Bas, moving companies organise everything in one system, and a lot of it happens automatically. Integrations with Exact, SnelStart and our own API, among others, connect Bas to the accounts and other software. That way movers work easily and quickly, and spend 25% less time on admin.

Our sister company LiveQuote turns an ordinary video call into a moving quote: AI recognises the furniture live on screen and estimates the volume. The first pilots are running in the Netherlands.

We are the market leader in the Netherlands; now we want to keep growing, also outside the Netherlands. Are you ambitious too? Then we are looking for you.

Why we are looking for you

Bas is growing, in the Netherlands and soon beyond. That is why we are expanding the team. How you tackle a feature or bug technically, from database to screen, in Bas and in LiveQuote, is up to you. What we build and why, we decide together with the product owner and the business. For the coming period the focus is on Bas: making it easier for new customers to get started and getting Bas ready for other countries.

Who we are looking for

  • You work independently: you build a feature from start to finish.
  • You like working with others towards a shared goal and you share your knowledge.
  • You think from the customer’s side: movers want software that simply works.
  • You stay calm under pressure and solve problems in a structured way.
  • You feel responsible for the growth of both products.

What your day looks like

We work in epics: a larger piece of work that we choose together based on impact and effort, and that you finish from start to end. An outage at a customer always comes first. Every morning, in a short daily, we agree who picks up what.

Paul, the product owner, hands over the work fully specified. You decide on the technical approach; Alexander reviews. Casper, co-owner, knows the moving industry like no one else. You also help with our AI models, in Holmes, our own platform.

One or two days a week we work together at the office in the Eindhoven region, the rest of the week from home. After your first month, your first improvements are live.

What you bring

  • Senior experience with both backend and frontend.
  • PHP with Symfony or a similar framework, and PostgreSQL.
  • React with TypeScript.
  • Python, or you pick it up quickly.
  • You build screens a moving planner understands without explanation.
  • You use AI tools as much as you like, but you can explain every line you deliver.

Our tech

  • Backend: domain-driven design (DDD) with a hexagonal architecture.
  • Frontend: Feature-Sliced Design (FSD).
  • Always the latest versions, on our own servers, including the database and the AI models. So we are never stuck with old software or a single vendor.
  • Event-driven, with live updates in the browser (Mercure).
  • You build AI features in Bas yourself, such as our AI assistant for movers and our own MCP server that lets AI tools work with Bas securely.

The stack, always on the latest version: PHP, Symfony, API Platform, PostgreSQL, React with TypeScript, React Native with Expo and Python with FastAPI. We work with Linear, GitLab, Claude Code and Codex.

Room to learn: computer vision models, fine-tuning and training LLMs and VLMs, and working with techniques like WebRTC.

The less fun part

Bas has years of history, and you clean up older parts when you touch them. And we want a lot at once, so good coordination and switching quickly are part of the job.

What we offer

  • From €5,500 gross per month for 40 hours (32 to 40 hours is negotiable), depending on your skills, plus 8% holiday allowance and the chance to earn shares in LiveQuote.
  • A €1,000 signing bonus after your probation period. If someone referred you, you share it: €500 each. Mention who referred you when you apply.
  • A one-year contract with Bas Software, with a permanent contract as the goal.
  • 27 days of holiday, and if you fall ill, we pay 100% of your salary for both years of sick leave.
  • A personal pension plan with Brand New Day (we contribute 5%), a MacBook Pro, AI coding subscriptions, a home working and phone allowance, and travel expenses.
  • Responsibility from day one, and room for new techniques such as computer vision.
  • A small, informal team focused on results.
